MERO Limited Lifetime Warranty
MERO automotive window film is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty against qualifying manufacturing and material defects.
This warranty covers replacement film only. Installation labor, removal labor, and reinstallation labor are not covered.
Warranty Coverage
MERO warrants its automotive window film against the following manufacturing or material defects under normal use and proper installation:
- Discoloration or abnormal color change
- Excessive fading
- Bubbling caused by defective film or adhesive
- Peeling caused by defective film or adhesive
- Cracking
- Delamination or separation between layers of the film
If a covered defect is verified, MERO will provide replacement film at no charge.
Warranty Duration
For film installed on a vehicle, this Limited Lifetime Warranty remains valid for as long as the original vehicle owner owns that vehicle.
The warranty is non-transferable and ends when ownership of the vehicle changes.
Proof of Purchase
A MERO warranty card may be provided by the installing shop, but a warranty card is not required to submit a claim.
The claimant must provide sufficient proof that the film is a MERO product and was legitimately purchased.
Acceptable documentation may include:
- Original purchase receipt
- Installation invoice
- MERO warranty card
- Installer purchase records
- Other documentation reasonably requested by MERO
MERO may also request vehicle information, product or batch information, and photos or videos showing the claimed defect.
What Is Not Covered
The MERO Limited Lifetime Warranty covers manufacturing and material defects. It does not cover:
- Contamination, dirt, debris, creases, light gaps, improper trimming, or other installation defects
- Peeling, bubbling, lifting, or other failures caused by improper installation
- Scratches, cuts, tears, gouges, or other physical damage
- Damage caused by accidents, vandalism, glass breakage, or impact
- Damage caused by improper cleaning or maintenance
- Damage caused by ammonia-based, acidic, abrasive, or otherwise unsuitable cleaners
- Damage caused by chemicals, excessive heat, fire, or other external conditions
- Film that has been removed, altered, improperly reinstalled, or installed over another film
- Damage resulting from glass replacement or repairs affecting the installed film
- Use of the film on surfaces or applications for which it was not intended
- Normal wear that does not constitute a manufacturing defect
- False, incomplete, or fraudulent warranty claims
Installation Issues
MERO does not warranty the quality of an installer's workmanship.
Issues such as contamination, improper trimming, creasing, light gaps, improper shrinking, installation damage, or other workmanship-related problems should be addressed directly with the shop or installer that performed the installation.
MERO's warranty applies to the window film product itself.
Warranty Claims
If you believe your MERO window film has a manufacturing or material defect, submit a warranty claim directly to MERO.
You may be asked to provide:
- Proof of purchase or installation
- Vehicle year, make, and model
- Information identifying the MERO film
- Clear photos or videos showing the issue
- Additional information reasonably necessary to evaluate the claim
MERO reserves the right to inspect the film, request additional documentation, or request that affected material be returned before approving a claim.
Approved Claims
If MERO determines that the issue is covered by this warranty, MERO will provide sufficient replacement film for the affected installation.
Labor is not included.
If the original MERO product or shade is no longer available, MERO may provide the closest reasonably equivalent product available at the time of the claim.
Replacement under warranty does not restart or extend the original warranty period.
Installer & Shop Claims
Professional installers who discover a suspected defect in unused MERO film may submit a warranty claim directly to MERO.
MERO may request:
- Order number or proof of purchase
- Product and batch information
- Photos or videos of the issue
- Samples or return of the affected film
If MERO confirms a manufacturing defect, MERO will replace the affected material as appropriate.
Limitations
To the extent permitted by applicable law, MERO is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential costs arising from a warranty claim, including vehicle downtime, transportation, rental vehicles, lost business, or installation labor.
No installer, reseller, or other third party is authorized to modify or extend the MERO Limited Lifetime Warranty on MERO's behalf.
Some states do not allow certain limitations or exclusions, so some of the limitations above may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary by state.
